This vibrant neighborhood, south of Market Street centered
along 24th Street off Mission, reflects its Mexican and
Latino heritage through the large colorful murals on
building walls and an abundance of lively cantinas and
Mexican restaurants.
Mission Street, the longest and one of the oldest
streets in San Francisco,follows the original trail from the
waterfront village of Yerba Buena (later renamed San
Francisco) with Mission Dolores, built in 1776. Take a
self-guided tour of the Mission, located at 16th Street and
Dolores. Open daily 9am-4pm.
Galeria de la Raza, 2857 24th Street, features works by
Chicano/Latino artists from the Bay Area. Open Wed-Sun
12-6pm. Precita Eyes Mural Arts Center, 2981 24th Street,
