Millions of delicious, nutritious, mouth-watering strawberries, raspberries, blackberries and blueberries will be ripe for a celebration at the “new” MONTEREY BAY BERRY FESTIVAL. While strawberries, Santa Cruz County’s number one agriculture crop, have been at the center of attention at other festivals, this will be the first time raspberries, blackberries and blueberries will be in the spotlight too. Scrumptious berries abound as desserts make “Berry Lane” a popular destination for festival-goers. Field-fresh berries by the flat or pint are among the favorite Festival take home items. Proceeds from the Berry Lane sales benefit numerous local nonprofit organizations and all berries are donated by local growers. The tasty treats are just part of the fun over the weekend. Besides the non-stop entertainment on the main bandstand, there are arts and crafts booths, a wide range of Festival food selections, and gooey contests for the young and old happening each day. A new attraction will be the Gold Coast Arabian Classic and Amateur Horse Show and a Muscle Car Show.

Through the mystery of magic and the mastery of skill, audiences will be spellbound as Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey® presents ZING ZANG ZOOMSM, a thrill filled, mind-blowing circus spectacular where family fun is no illusion. Zingmaster Alex, a Bay Area native and local award-winning magician, has more than a few electrifying tricks up his sleeve to ward off an impish Mr. Gravity and his team of scallywags, “The Heavies.” Fun-filled magic merges with traditional circus arts to create a world of infinite possibilities where apprentice illusionists from the audience levitate their parents with a wave of a wand and human cannonballs are blasted through the air as the high flying circus is (literally) turned upside down. All this plus an incomparable array of exotic animals, including a herd of majestic Asian elephants, magnificent Bengal tigers and Arabian and Friesian horses, zebras, amazing dancing dogs and more make this 139th edition of the Greatest Show on Earth® one of the best of all time.
