CANNERY ROW
In January 1958, the City of Monterey officially re-named Ocean View Avenue "Cannery Row" in honor of John Steinbeck and his novel that described a colorful past set amid the cannery culture of the time.Today, visitors can soak up the past, enjoy the present, and marvel at how the former clanking, smelly, industrial street has been transformed into one of the world's most beautiful waterfront destinations. and otters, take a sightseeing cruise or view migrating whales.
CARMEL-BY-THE-SEA
Take Highway 1 south from Monterey and you'll find Carmel: a city in the forest, a one mile long pure white sandy beach, a cultural mecca for the performing and visual arts. Superb dining and shopping experiences. A story book setting!

PINNACLES NATIONAL MONUMENT
