OAKLAND
The busy Port of Oakland is the 4th largest port in the US and the
largest container facility on the West Coast. Jack London Square, a
waterfront marina area, features shopping and dining. Take the Ferry
from the Ferry Building or Pier 41 in San Francisco. Embarcadero &

Oakland. On the north shore, enjoy gardens and sandy beaches, rent a
peddle boat or canoe, or take an authentic gondola ride. At Lakeside
Park on the east shore is Children’s Fairyland theme park and a

Oakland Zoo is home to over 300 animals from around the world. Open

daily carriage rides and self-guided mansion tours, and a year-round

affiliate of the Smithsonian Institution, includes an observatory,

ALAMEDA
Site of a former Naval Air Station, Alameda now features several major
attractions including the aircraft carrier USS Hornet Museum. A highly
decorated WWII veteran, the Hornet gained worldwide fame in 1969 by
recovering the Apollo 11 astronauts after their historic lunar landing
mission. The ship is well restored and has many aircraft and space

BERKELEY
University of California, Berkeley is the oldest and most prestigious of
the nine UC campuses. Points of interest on 1,200 acre campus include
the Greek Theatre, Campanile Tower and University and Telegraph Avenues.
